Our Mission
Our vision is to first provide a nurturing and fun learning environment for each one of our players to thrive, where all students can reach their best on and off the field. Our experienced coaching staff will provide each player with the requisite tools and skills to become a more skilled player.
We seek to increase the skill and tactical awareness levels of players in middle and high school. As former Spirit Eagle coaches, we have a track record of player development and positioning for success at top DI, DII, and DIII colleges.
Our passionate and energetic coaching staff is made up of coaches that have played the sport at the collegiate level and in NEFHA, the top field league in the USA. They have competed in and won tournaments in the USA and Internationally.

Marc Waldron
Coaching Experience: Head Coach Spirit Eagles 2006-2014
• Team won 3 indoor NIT gold medal at U 16 and U 19 levels
• Team Won Gold Medal at USFHA Hockey Festival
• Team Won Gold Medal at Disney Showcase
• Team Won consecutive gold medals at Big Apple U 19 tournaments
• Women Alumni and Mixed Team won consecutive gold medals at Haddies Cup
Kelsey “ Fuzzy” Stephenson
Coaching Experience; Head Coach Spirit Eagles 2007-2015
• U 19 Teams qualified for 4 consecutive NIT tournaments
• Major contribution to success to teams that won Gold Medals at Disney Showcase and Hockey Festival
• Head Coach Tristate Field Hockey Club that won NEFHA Club championship and John F. Kennedy International Memorial Tournament
Coaches
Ewing Barnaby
Coach Ewing “Barny” joins us with an extensive background of playing and coaching. After playing in the Pan American games in 1987&1991, Coach Barny continued on to become an elite coaching. He brings to our team certifications for coaching from the Pan American coaching certification and International Olympic Committee coaching certification. When not on the filed with the NJ Spartan team, Coach Barny is also the head coach at Mount Saint Dominic Academy and is a USA Futures Program head coach.
Haley Greczek (Meade)
Originally from Freehold Boro High School, Haley was coached by Marc and Fuzzy for 8 years. With the help of their knowledge and experience and her love of field hockey Haley continued her field hockey career at Rutgers University. Playing forward and midfield, she served as Team Captain her senior year. Receiving a Master’s Degree in Education, Haley was honored as a member of All Big Ten and a Big Ten distinguished scholar. She is a USA field hockey Certified Coach, and has experience coaching players at the elementary through high school level.
About NJ Spartans
NJ Spartans is a field hockey club for all ages based out of Basking Ridge, NJ that offers year round playing opportunities.
